Bed Wetting - How Can You Help Your Kids Conquer It? (discount medication)

By Shannon Pollock

Enuresis or bed wetting is a common problem faced by parents and children all over the world. The causes are many and there are numerous solutions to this dilemma. However, the most important thing for the parents to remember is that bed wetting is not done purposely by children and they need all your support and love to overcome it.

Causes

Bed wetting is a problem arising out of urinating while asleep involuntarily. The reasons for bed wetting include:

- Genetic factors

- Deep sleep

- Emotional stress

- Not getting enough sleep at night resulting in being too tired to get up

- Medical problems like diabetes, urinary tract infection and small bladder

- Slow progress in bladder control

The cause may be one or a combination of the above reasons. Continued bed wetting results in low self-esteem and more stress and this may still aggravate the problem. Parents can help a lot in this context.

When to seek treatment?

Up until the child is four years old, there is no need to worry. If the child wets the bed at night after four years of age, it is time to find the cause and remedy.

Since bed wetting can happen as a result of some medical problems, consult the child’s health practitioner and rule out those reasons. Do not wait for too long, as the child gets older, it can cause psychological problems. It may affect the child’s development and activities, if the problem goes untreated for a prolonged period of time.

Remedies

There are some changes in habits and remedial measures that might help the child control the bladder at night:

- Control intake of fluid before bedtime

- Have the child go to bathroom half an hour before bedtime and just before bedtime

- Have the child go to bed earlier to avoid being too tired to wake up during the night

- Use an alarm to wake up the child when there is moisture

- Let the child have easy access to the bathroom at night

- Provide enough lighting at night for the child to reach the bathroom without fumbling

- If the child is not able to wake up on its own, parents can help by waking up themselves and leading the child to the bathroom

- Bladder control exercises like holding urine for longer time during waking hours

- Avoid punishment as the child has absolutely no control over this problem

There are some herbal remedies that can be combined with some of the above changes. A teaspoon of honey taken two times a day is considered a remedy for bed wetting. Even though there are conflicting claims about this, it can be tried as it is harmless. Some of the herbal remedies for bed wetting are Parsley, Plantain, Horsetail, Corn silk and Arnica Montana.

Massage, chiropractic therapy and hypnosis can also be tried as they have no side effects. More than anything, don’t blame the child for the wet bed and don’t let the child feel guilty and embarrassed. If families work together, this problem can be overcome. Just remember that yours is not the only family facing this problem.

Don’t wait for the problem to reach gigantic proportions before seeking a remedy. When the child is past two years, you can start training the child by following a regular bedtime routine.

Parents can help by waking up at night one or two times to lead the child to the bathroom. By this, you might be able to avoid all the anxieties for the whole family.

The Vital Part Drinking Water Plays In Our Health
By Aydan Corkern

During a busy day that starts early in the morning for most people, we can start that day with breakfast, or not. We have all heard how important it is to eat breakfast, but not all of us take it seriously enough to make sure that we eat a good breakfast of some kind each day. It does not mean that we should necessarily fill up on bacon and eggs, which both are high in cholesterol and fat, but they do provide protein. It is wise choices that are hat is needed in our diet for all of our meals throughout the day.

Breakfast is important because it gives us the fuel we need to get moving. All of our meals and what they consist of are important to the status of our health, but people often forget how important the liquid fuel we take in is too. Water is the most needed liquid that we should drink everyday, but so many of us fail to drink nearly enough.

A lot of time we substitute water with drinks like soda or coffee. Even though they do have a certain amount of water in them, they also contain other things that are not so good for us. We need to drink pure, clean water that does not have all of the bad things included like caffeine and sugar.

Water is meant to hydrate our body and to help us digest foods that we eat. Our bodies are largely made up of water and when we do not get enough each day, it can cause us to be less healthy than we should be. Our body cells and organs need water to function correctly and efficiently. Water is used as a lubricant by the body and produces saliva and the fluids that surround our joints. It is also what produces perspiration and helps reduce constipation.

When we are trying to lose weight, water can be used as a natural appetite suppressant because it will give us a full feeling, but it is calorie free. If you are trying to put more water in your diet, you can do this like a lot of other people are doing and carry a bottle full around with you everywhere you go. It can cause you to increase your water in take just because it is there. It might not be necessary to buy bottled water that can be expensive. Your tap water, if it has been proven to be safe, is just as good. You can also buy water purifiers for your faucets or purifying tablets.

By Aydan Corkern

Smoking is not good for you because it damages your body and your health. A lot of people call cigarettes “death sticks” or “killer sticks” because that’s what it can do to you if you smoke. Cigarettes have so many chemicals and toxins in them, which will hurt your body. Just the smoke alone can hurt someone if they are around it. Cigarettes have tar in them, and it stays in your lungs. In time, it builds up, giving you more and more problems, not to mention everything else that are in them. It can make you have to have a breathing machine so you can breathe, and you will have to take medicine to get better, if it’s not too late for you.

It will make your teeth turn yellow, put a yellow color in your eyes, and your body and your hair smell like smoke. It also makes your house smell like it, too. It doesn’t matter whether you are in one room of the house that is far from everyone else because it will still travel through you home and get to everyone that is in your home. It can turn your fingers yellow if it sets there for too long. You smell it even after you breathe it out, and it will make your food taste nasty because it kills your taste buds. It can eat away at the gums and whether you are smoking or drinking, you will have to get a lot of work done on your mouth, if it hasn’t gotten really bad.

It can make it hard to breathe, takes years off your live, makes your skin age, damages your lungs, and can give you cancer. You will have shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, and it can make you cough up blood. You will age faster, making you look like you are older than what you really are and give you lots of wrinkles on your face that you don’t want or that you shouldn’t be getting until you are in your 70’s or your 80’s. You need to stop smoking for you and your family so they don’t get this problem, too. All it takes is some will power and the help from your friends and your family to help you stop and stop for good. You don’t want this happening to you or you loved ones. Take over your body and don’t let the cigarettes take over you because you are stronger than that.
